Our 4th of July...

Sorry this is a week late, but as you can imagine we don't have a lot of downtime...

We had a great 4th of July. For starters we had a 4 day weekend which was great because we have had a few of those here lately and I am getting used to NOT working a full work week. Last Saturday we had a nice pool day and hung out with some of our neighbors. Then on Sunday morning we got up and went to the Delano 4th of July Parade. It was so good! The parade itself was almost 2 hours long and had such a nice line up. The boys really enjoyed it and got a kick out of seeing the bands, horses and other floats. Oh and of course the candy! Who could forget that. This was the first parade we have been to where they pass out icee pops too. What a good idea for a summer parade. The best part was when some horses in the parade took a poop right in front of us and we had to be a bit more selective in which candy we let the boys pick up! Sunday evening we lit some fireworks and sparklers in at our house. Luke even got his first go at sparklers. No surprise he liked them! Later we went over to a neighbors house to see some of their fireworks. In general it was simply a nice leisurely weekend. Who could ask for a better way to spend time with your kids and reflect on how proud we are to be Americans. :)
