Quiet as a...bunny?

When my sisters and I were kids and being a little too loud we would be told to play "quiet as a mouse." Of course the best part was trying so hard not to talk or make a sound that you ended up laughing!

Yesterday, we were running some errands and the boys were getting a little rowdy in the backseat. I exclaimed "enough, let's play quiet as a mouse." Blake said, "No - let's play quiet as a bunny." (Okay, I thought. I don't really care what the animal is as long as it's not a loud one.) So bunny it was. Then after a few seconds, very quietly from the backseat we heard Luke saying in his little whisper..."hoppy, hoppy, hoppy." Gotta love these boys!

Funny things I've heard lately...

Luke to Daddy: "that is NOT acceptabobble" (aka acceptable)
Luke to Mommy: "you say bad word, you go timeout" (for the record, I said butt)
Luke to Molly: "May May, do not eat bone on couch FOREVER"
Luke to Blake: "Bakey, you not my friend ANY more"

Blake when asked if he wants something: "um, maybe not"
Blake to Aunt Jill: "Mom said we can say bad words at home" (again, it was butt...long story and I realize now you can't teach a 4 year old to determine the right context in which to say something!)
Blake to Mommy (when asked why he didn't wear underwear today): "I don't know"

Everyday they say something new and funny. It's so hard to keep up with all their silly little quips...but I am determined to do a better job of writing (blogging) them!

Welcome to 2011

Happy New Year! Here we are at the start of what will I'm sure be another memorable year. This last year brought us so many changes and I have no doubt that this year will be no different. We are so blessed to have good health, good jobs, good families, good friends and some good little boys who remind us on a daily basis what the meaning of life is all about. :)
We had so much fun ringing in the New Year with some of our fantastic neighbors. There was so much food and fun to go around! I think I might have improved my "Just Dance" abilities as the night wore on if you know what I mean.

From our family to yours, we wish everyone a Happy New Year!

An Old Irish Blessing...
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
